WE WILL PAY YOUR SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARY SOON, AKINDOLIRE ASSURES NAOSS.

  The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Laolu Akindolire says the state government would soon commence the payment of bursary and scholarships to students of the state origin in all tertiary institutions across the country. He said the Ondo State Scholarship Board has concluded all the necessary arrangements on the bursary and scholarship award, and already seeking the state Governor's approval, assuring that the Governor, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa would expressly grant the approval soon. The Commissioner stated this in Akure while meeting with both national and state executives of the National Association of Ondo State Students, NAOSS, an umbrella body for all students in tertiary institutions across the country.   The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Laolu Akindolire, has described the All National Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS, as critical stakeholder whose activities have consequential impacts on the education sector. The Commissioner while meeting with Executives of Ondo State ANCOPSS in Akure, described members of the conference as major stakeholders and partners capable of driving the policies and programmes of government for the overall development of the education industry in the state. Mr. Akindolire informed the school administrators that the state government would not compromise the high educational standard for which the state is known, and urged them to ensure that their students get nothing less than the best. He tasked them to be good mentors and role models to their students and as well work harmoniously with government and examination bodies towards curbing malpractices during both internal and external examinations....

COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION, AKINDOLIRE LAUDS WAEC, RE-EMPHASISES GOVERNMENT'S ZERO TOLERANCE FOR EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES

  Ondo State ommissioner for Education, Science and Technology. Mr. Laolu Akindolire has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the 2024  West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examinations, WASSCE, across the state.  The Commissioner who monitored the conduct of the examination in Akure with the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Folasade Adegoke and other officials of the ministry, said the conduct was peaceful and without hitch. He lauded the examination body, the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, for putting in place adequate logistics and personnel for the examination, stressing that in all schools visited, there was no issue whatsoever. The Commissioner, however used the occasion to re-emphasise the state government's zero tolerance to examination malpractice, saying the standard of education in the state would never be compromised. The Commissioner while talking a tour of various departments and offices in the ministry, said a harmonious and seamless working relationship was imperative to make government programmes impactful on the citizenry. He commended the staff of ministry for their commitment and dedication to duty, and tasked them on new innovations capable of transitioning positively the face of education in the state. ONDO STATE TO CREATE ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEPARTMENT IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

The Ondo State Government will create Entrepreneurship  Department in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, as part of efforts to enshrine skills acquisition and vocational training in secondary schools in the state. Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Ondo State, Mr Laolu Akindolire, dropped the hint in his office while playing host to the facilitator of Multi-Skill Teenpreneurship Programme, MSTP, Mr Wale Akinyanmi and his team. The team was at the office of the Commissioner to brief him on the progress and prospect of the Multi Skill Teenpreneurship Programme MSTP, a vocational skills acquisition programme currently being implemented in nine selected secondary schools across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
