Common Entrance Examination holds tomorrow across Ondo State*

  The Common Entrance Examination into public secondary schools in Ondo State holds tomorrow, Saturday, 28 June, 2025. The examination, also known as Placement Examination will take place simultaneously at designated centres across the 18 Local Government Area of the state. A statement by the Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Akindele Ige, said accreditation of candidates would begin by 8:00 o'clock in the morning. Dr. Ige therefore enjoined parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards get to designated centers on time with their registration slips and writing materials. Meanwhile, the Ondo State Ministry of Environment has announced that there would be no restriction on movement tomorrow during the Environmental Sanitation Period. This is to enable candidates sitting for the Common Entrance Examination across the state get to their designated centres without hitch.

ODSG begins 2025 State Examinations, holds placement examination next Saturday

A total of 13,308 candidates sat for this year's placement examination into the five state government owned Unity Secondary Schools across the state. The examination, held on Saturday at 76 designated centres across the three senatorial districts of the state was peaceful and hitchfree.  The Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Akindele Ige, lauded the peaceful conduct of the examination throughout the State. The placement examination for the state's Unity Secondary schools, signalled the beginning of  the 2025 Ondo State examinations being conducted by the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. ODSG moves to rid Akure and it's environ of plastics waste

  Ondo State Government has announced plans to install 10 plastic waste drop-off  facilities  across strategic locations  in Akure the Ondo State Capital.  The State Governor,  Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa  made this known while addressing traders at the Oja Oba, the Akure market during a road show, as part of activities  marking the 2025 World Environment Day ( WED). The Governor, who spoke through the Administrative Secretary of the Ondo State Environmental Protection Agency, OSEPA,  Mrs Funke Adeoye, described the World Environment Day as the largest annual celebration  of environmental consciousness globally. Olufunke Fasawe Foundation empowers students in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area.

  The Olufunke Fasawe Foundation has empowered indigents but brilliant students across secondary schools in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, as parts of its vision of promoting educational development in Nigeria. The Foundation, founded a year ago by Dr (Mrs) Olufunke Fasawe, seeks to offer financial supports for educational development through grants for school development as well as scholarships to deserving students. The initiative was aimed at enhancing learning environments by producing direct supports to students with emphasis on the girl-child and other students, particularly, in areas of science, technology and mathematics. Ondo Government restates ban on use of handsets by students during school hours, lauds conduct of ongoing WASCE.

  The Ondo State Government says the ban on use of handset within school premises by students during school hours is still in force throughout the State. The Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr Akindele Ige, stated this while monitoring the on-going West Africa School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, in Akure and environs. The Administrative Secretary, accompanied by the Director Inspectorate and Quality Assurance, Mr Oluwadayiro Obajulaye, and other officials of the ministry, expressed satisfaction with the compliance of both students and officials with WAEC rules and regulations during the examination. He emphasized that the ban placed on the use of handset by school children within the school premises during official hours or during examinations was still in force, adding that government will not hesitate to invoke appropriate sanctions on any erring student.
