Professor Ajibefun assumes office as Commissioner for Education, calls for synergy in moving the sector forward.

 







The new Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ondo State, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun has called for suggestions, ideas, innovations and synergy in revamping the education sector in the state.







The Commissioner, while addressing top management staff and other members of the staff of the Ministry upon assumption office, noted that the education sector of every state is very crucial to its overall development.


The Commissioner emphasized that every segment in the education sector is very important, noting that the growth and success of every nation depends largely on the education system and its educational eattainment.


Professor Ajibefun explained that education empowers individuals with knowledge and skills, leading to increased productivity and innovation, while also contributing to social mobility and a more equitable society, hence decision of government to ensure that the state gets the best.


The former Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, and former Rector, Rufus Giwa Polythenic, Owo, said every member of staff of the ministry is very critical in the attainment of the ministry's goals, and promised to carry everyone along in the discharge of his official duties


"Anything I do, I always want to do it well, therefore, I want everybody to move at the same pace. The way I work, I don't have break and I want everybopdy to prepare his or her mind toward this"


He therefore called for cooperation, brotherliness and unity of purpose among members of staff of the ministry in achieving government goals and objectives in the education sector of the state.


The Administrative Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Akindele Ige,  while welcoming the new Commissioner, described him as a humble,  hardworking and a silent achiever who had made great impacts in the education sector within and outside the state.


While describing the education sector as familiar terrain for the new Commissioner, the Administrative Secretary pledged the cooperation of the members of staff and their readiness to key into his ideas and innovations.


Meanwhile, the new Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, has led the Administrative Secretary and others top management officials of the Ministry to monitor the on-going NECO examination in Akure, the state capital.


Professor Ajibefun expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination and applauded the examination body for the tidy arrangements it had put in place.
