ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT COMMENCES STATEWIDE VERIFICATION EXERCISE FOR PENSIONERS*
The Ondo State Government has announced the commencement of a statewide verification exercise for all Pensioners from year 2016 till date.
A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Pension Transitional Department, Chief Bunmi Alade, said the exercise was designed to ensure accurate pension records, eliminate ghost pensioners, and guarantee the prompt and seamless payment of pensions and gratuities to all eligible beneficiaries.
According to the statement, all affected Pensioners are expected to appear physically at the various designated centres in their respective Local Government Areas for the verification.
They are to appear with their letter of Approval of Retirement, Payment Voucher, Bank Verification Number (BVN) printout, and Pensioner's Identity Card or other valid means of identification.
The statement added that deceased Pensioners' next-of-kin or representatives are required to appear before the verification committee with Letter of Administration and Affidavit of Next of Kin.
Chief Bunmi Alade added that the Verification Exercise will hold on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd September, 2025, in Ilaje, Okitipupa, Irele, Ese-Odo and Odigbo Local Government Areas, while those in Ondo West, Ondo East, and Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Areas will appear before the screening committee on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th September, 2025.
The exercise will hold in Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-East, and Akoko South-West Local Government Areas on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th September, 2025.
It will be the turn of Owo and Ose Local Government Areas on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th September, 2025, while the exercise will hold in Ifedore and Idanre Local Government Areas on Friday 12th September, 2025.
On Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th September, 2025, pensioners in Akure North and Akure South Local Government Areas will appear before the verification committee for the screening.
Note that the exercise will take place at the headquarters of each Local Government Area or any other venue agreed upon by the Nigeria Union of Pensioners.(NUP), Ondo State Chapter.
