‎Afro-American Avant Garde Professionals honours Ondo AG, Ajulo, with Champions of Freedom Award. ‎ ‎…dedicates award to Aiyedatiwa’s democratic vision and President Tinubu’s transformative leadership. ‎



The Afro-American Avant Garde Professionals, based in Kentucky, USA, has honoured the Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, with the prestigious Avant Garde Award for Champions.

‎The award that took place at the Muhammad Ali Centre in Kentucky, United States of America, was in recognition of his unwavering commitment to human rights advocacy, the rule of law, and transformative legal service, both in Nigeria and across the globe.

‎The award ceremony, attended by distinguished guests and advocates of liberty, was held in honour of the late boxing legend, Muhammad Ali, whose life of courage, conviction, and compassion continues to inspire champions of justice around the world.

‎Dr Ajulo, a renowned rights activist and legal scholar, was honoured for his tireless defence of justice and human dignity, as well as his exemplary leadership in promoting freedom and inclusive governance.

‎Speaking on his long-standing relationship with Avant Garde International, Ajulo revealed that his visit to Louisville was a stopover to celebrate the Olugboja family, one of Ondo State’s illustrious lineages, while en route to the International Bar Association Conference in Canada.

‎In his acceptance speech, the Ondo State Attorney General, paid glowing tribute to Muhammad Ali and his immortal legacy, describing him as a true champion of champions whose voice, fists, and faith had redefined freedom, courage, and self-belief for generations.

‎Dr Ajulo dedicated the award to the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and eulogised him as a true democrat and a champion of champions whose administration continues to uphold freedom, fairness, and dialogue as the enduring pillars of governance.

‎“Under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, Ondo State has become a model of participatory governance and constructive engagement. His recent hosting of the South-West Engagement Summit stands as a shining affirmation of his belief that dialogue and inclusivity remain the strongest instruments for strengthening democracy and safeguarding freedom. It is in this spirit that I graciously dedicate this award to him for his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to democratic values, and promotion of freedom through dialogue.”

‎He also extolled virtues of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a quintessential statesman whose visionary leadership is redefining governance in Nigeria through bold reforms and strategic restructuring.

‎The Ondo State Attorney General, noted that President Tinubu’s commitment to repositioning the nation’s economy, restoring confidence in public institutions, and fostering true federalism reflects the courage and foresight of a leader deeply devoted to national renewal.

‎“President Tinubu’s transformative policies are not just about rebuilding structures; they are about rekindling hope and reaffirming our collective destiny as a people of resilience, innovation, and unity. Like Muhammad Ali in the ring, President Tinubu stands firm in the face of challenges, guided by conviction, purpose, and an unwavering belief in Nigeria’s greatness.

‎In his keynote lecture titled “Tenacity, Competence and Dedication: Lessons from Beethoven for Budding Lawyers and Professionals,”  Dr Ajulo drew profound parallels between the life of the legendary composer Ludwig van Beethoven and the challenges faced by aspiring professionals in law and public service.

‎He highlighted Beethoven’s rise from humble beginnings in Bonn, Germany, in 1770, to becoming one of history’s most revered composers, a journey that embodies lessons in resilience, focus, and enduring passion.

‎“Beethoven’s life teaches us that true greatness is born of perseverance. His ability to transform adversity into timeless art should inspire us all, especially those who strive for excellence in law, leadership, and public service.” Ajulo stated.

‎He charged participants to embrace tenacity, competence, and moral courage as guiding principles in their professional and civic lives.

‎“Let us strive to be champions of freedom in our own right, inspired by the enduring spirit of Muhammad Ali,” he declared,

‎The Ondo State Attorney General also reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa's Administration to justice, equity, and protection of human rights.
