PROOF OF COMPETENCE AND EVIDENCE OF OWNERSHIP BY MISSIONS ARE SACROSANCT IN TAKING OVER SCHOOLS; AGAGU INSISTS.

  A delegation of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Igbobini Diocese, recently paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Ondo State, Olufemi Agagu FNIVS, in his office in Akure. The delegation led by the Archbishop of Igbobini Diocese, Most Rev. Olugbenga Fafeyiwa, was at the office of the Commissioner to seek government's understanding on return of schools to the Methodist Church. Most Rev.Fafeyiwa told the Commissioner that the delegation was in his office to seek the state government's nod in taking over Methodist Grammar School, Okitipupa. He hinted that enrollment into the school has dropped considerably over the years while the school land was being encroached by some ambitious developers. ONDO GOVT. ADJUSTS SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR THE 2023 ACADEMIC SESSION.

  The Ondo State Government has effected an adjustment in the school calendar for the second term 2023 academic session. A circular by the Directorate of School Services, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, says the mid-term brake earlier scheduled for Friday 17th of February, 2023, has been shifted to Friday 24th of February, 2023. The adjustment in school calendar was in view of the forthcoming general elections scheduled to commence on Saturday 25th of February, 2023. According to the circular, students in the state would proceed on the 2023 second term mid-term brake on Friday 24th February and resume on Monday 27th February, 2023.

ONDO GOVERNMENT ORGANIZES CAREER TALK FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS, DISABUSES THEIR MINDS OF HARD DRUG

  Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has organized a Career Talk for Secondary School Students in the Ondo South Senatorial District as part of efforts to enlighten the students and provide guidance for them in chosing their life-long careers. The programme, which brought together student representatives from all the public secondary schools in the Senatorial District, was part of the Career Mentorship Programme of the ministry aimed at ensuring that the young minds are properly guilded in determining what they want to become in future. The Career Talk, held at Stella Maris College, Okitipupa, featured professionals across various walks of life, who put the students through the rudiments and academic requirements of various professions and careers to prepare their minds ahead of future.
