ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT COMMENCES STATEWIDE VERIFICATION EXERCISE FOR PENSIONERS*

The Ondo State Government has announced the commencement of a statewide verification exercise for all Pensioners from year 2016 till date. A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Pension Transitional Department, Chief Bunmi Alade, said the exercise was designed to ensure accurate pension records, eliminate ghost pensioners, and guarantee the prompt and seamless payment of pensions and gratuities to all eligible beneficiaries. According to the statement, all affected Pensioners are expected to appear physically at the various designated centres in their respective Local Government Areas for the verification. They are to appear with their letter of Approval of Retirement, Payment Voucher, Bank Verification Number (BVN) printout, and Pensioner's Identity Card or other valid means of identification.   The Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa has challenged legal practitioners in Nigeria to confront the ethical challenges plaguing the profession and work towards restoring public trust in the legal system. The Governor, while declaring open the 2025 annual Law Week of the Ondo City Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), on Tuesday, described legal practitioners as Ministers in the temple of Justice and tasked them on protecting the rights of citizens, ensuring accountability, and upholding the rule of law. Ondo Attorney General Invokes Coroner’s Law Over Death of UNIMED Registrar*

In a letter addressed to the Honourable Chief Judge of Ondo State, Dr. Ajulo stated that reports indicated Mr. Adeniran died under questionable circumstances on or about July 17, 2025. Ondo State Government to conduct coroner's inquest into the death of UNIMED Registrar, Ezekiel Adeniran*

  The Ondo State Ministry of Justice has requested for a corona inquest into the death of Mr Ezekiel Imole Adeniran, who died under questionable circumstances on July 17th this year at his private residence in Akure, the Ondo State capital.  Mr Adeniran, who until his death was the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, UNIMED, Ondo, was found lying unconscious in his compound in the morning and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical officer. In a letter to the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Segun Odusola, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State, Dr Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, said a former enquiry in form of coroner's inquest became warranted to ascertain the cause and manner of his death.
