GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA PAYS WAEC REGISTRATION FEE FOR PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE STATE
The Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the payment of WAEC registration fee for 23,048 SS3 students in all public secondary schools across the state.
The move was part of the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's administration to alleviate the financial burden of parents and ensure unhindered academic progression for our for secondary school students in the state.
The Six Hundred and Thirty-three Million, Nine Hundred and Eighteen Thousand Naira (N633, 918, 000.00) approved by the Governor would cover the payment of WAEC registration fee for SS3 students who had participated and passed the Joint SS2 Promotion Examination conducted last year by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
Stakeholders in the education sector in the state have lauded the state Governor, Dr Lucy Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the gesture, describing it as a significant relief for parents and guardians in the face of the present economic reality.
Accordingly to them, the gesture would promotes equitable and unhindered access to education by allowing all eligible candidates to participate in this pivotal examination without financial stress, as well as bridging the gap among students from varying socio-economic backgrounds.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Folasade Adegoke said the commitment of Governor Aiyedatiwa to fund the WASSCE registration aligns with the Education, Human Capital Development and Entrepreneurship objectives outlined in the ‘OUR-EASE’ policy thrust of the administration.
The Permanent Secretary thanked Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the gesture and urged beneficiaries to make the state proud through their excellent performances in the examination.
