Ondo State Accountants Forum Celebrates First Female PhD holder in Accounting.

 






The Forum of Accountants in the Public Service of Ondo State has honoured  Mrs. Oladipo Joycelyn Omobola PhD, for being the first female accountant to hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting in the public service of Ondo State.


Dr Oladipo, a member of the  Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), is currently serving as the Director of Accounts at the Ondo State Ministry of Information and Orientation.


She was honored with an  Outstanding Award for her accomplishments, expertise and contributions to the accounting profession in the Ondo State Public Service during a weeklong event organized in Akure by the Ondo State Forum of Accountants.


Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Ayodele Adekanbi, while speaking at the week long annual event, described the remarkable accomplishment of the Dr Oladipo as a significant breakthrough for women in accounting profession in the state.


According to him, the achievements of Dr Oladipo Omobola PhD, was a testament to her dedication, perseverance, hardwork and passion for advancing knowledge in accounting.


He added that her accomplishments will undoubtedly serve as inspirations to aspiring female accountants and professionals in the state.


While describing the awardees as a woman of many parts, Comrade Adekambi noted that her roles have advanced the frontier of good governance and judicious husbandry of public funds in every government ministry, department and agency she had worked.


The Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Information and Orientation, Ondo State, Mr. Lanre Akarakiri described Dr. Oladipo Omobola PhD, as a dependable person, dedicated, experienced, a goal getter, a thoroughbred and results-oriented  professional who is very passionate at all times about the success of others.


Mr. Akarakiri further stated that the award conferred on her, affirmed to her diligence in quality leadership style and excellent service delivery, stressing that the award of honour would further boost her morale to make more contributions to the advancement of the public sector accounts in the state.


The awardee, Dr. Oladipo PhD, appreciated God's faithfulness in his her life and attributed her breakthrough to dedication and selfless service God and mankind.


She appreciated the state government for the opportunity given her to serve her father land and acknowledged her colleagues for recognising her humble contributions to the public service of Ondo State and the accounting profession.


The celebrant, encouraged other public servants to always put in their best irrespective of wherever they find themselves.

After Decades of Interregnum, Ondo Government to Appoint Justices of the Peace (JP)* ‎

‎The Ondo State Government has finalised plans to appoint the title of Justices of the Peace (JP) among qualified individuals across the state. ‎ ‎This initiative follows the approval earlier this year by Governor Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the selection and appointment of qualified individuals to hold the office pursuant to Section 12 (f) of the Magistrates’ Courts Law of Ondo State, Cap. 90. ‎ ‎Dr Olukayode Ajulo, OON, SAN, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, noted that this approval marks the end of an interregnum lasting more than a decade. ‎ ‎This initiative is part of Governor Aiyedatiwa's efforts to strengthen grassroots justice and reinforce the rule of law throughout the state. ‎ ‎The Attorney General mentioned that applicants for offices have been screened, and those who met the required qualifications have been shortlisted and submitted to the Governor for final approval. ‎ ‎He emphasised that the individuals nominated repres...

Joint SS2 Promotion Exams; Ondo State Government reshedules three papers earlier slated for tomorrow*

The Ondo State Government has postponed the papers scheduled for tomorrow in the ongoing SS2 Promotion Examination in all secondary schools across the state. A statement by the Head, Information & Media, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Olaoluwa Meshack, says postponement of the three papers became imperative due to the public holiday declared by the Federal Government tomorrow. The Federal Government had declared tomorrow Tuesday 15th July, 2025, a public holiday to mourn the former Nigeria President, General Mohammad Buhari, who passed on yesterday in a hospital in London. The three papers; English Language, Commerce and Woodwork, were earlier scheduled to hold tomorrow across all secondary schools in the state but had to be rescheduled in compliance with the Federal Government directive.
