WAEC EXAMINATION, PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SAYS CONDUCT WAS SUPERB.
The Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science, Science and Technology, Ondo State, Mrs Florence Arowoshade, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the 2025 West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examinations, WASSCE, across the state.
The Acting Permanent Secretary who monitored the conduct of the examination with other officials of the ministry in both public and private schools in Akure and environs, said the conduct was peaceful and without hitch.
She lauded the examination body, the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, for putting in place adequate logistics and personnel for the examination, stressing that in all schools visited, there was no issue whatsoever.
Mrs Arowoshade particularly lauded WAEC for the new innovation of providing different question papers for different candidates at the same time, saying the development has greatly curbed incidence of malpractices during examinations.
According to her, the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has not received any report of malpractices, or any hitch due to shortage of materials or inadequate personnel from any part of the state since the examination commenced.
The Acting Permanent Secretary however used the occasion to emphasis the state government's zero tolerance to examination malpractices, saying the standard of education in the state would never be compromised.
She also implored parents and guardians to monitor the fitness of their children and wards, especially their health status before sending them to the examination hall.
Mrs Arowoshade emphasized that the state government, as part of efforts to ameliorate the burden on parents and ensure that all qualified school children participate in the examination, has taken the responsibility of paying the WAEC registration fees for the 26,088 students writing the examination in all public secondary schools across the state.
She called on all stakeholders in the education sector across the state to join hands with the state government in uplifting education in the state especially in the areas of infrastructure development and educational materials.
